Ravi Babu’s Latest on ETV Win: A Review

Ravi Babu’s newest directorial venture is now streaming on ETV Win, boasting a runtime of 1 hour and 53 minutes. As a long-time admirer of his previous works like “Anasuya,” “Amaravathi,” and “Manasara,” I eagerly watched this film from start to finish.

Initial Impressions vs. Reality

The movie began with promising titles and character introductions, leading me to believe it would be an enjoyable watch. However, as the story progressed, the film ultimately felt too logic-less and silly. My engagement waned significantly after a pivotal scene where a son is presented in makeup as his father, intended for a specific plot point. From that moment onward, not a single scene truly resonated or worked for me.

The Plot Idea and Its Execution

The central idea behind the film is quite intriguing: a family conspires to claim insurance money by making a deceased person appear alive. While the concept itself held potential, the execution fell short. Despite the presence of many talented character artists, the film failed to be believable. It gave the impression of a “quickie film” produced by ETV Win, seemingly crafted by simply gathering various actors in one location without sufficient narrative depth.

What Worked (And What Didn’t)

The film did have a few positive aspects. The way it started, including the title sequences, showed glimpses of Ravi Babu’s distinct style. There were also a few scattered comedy scenes and commendable performances from the artists.

However, the drawbacks were significant. A major minus was the decision to approach a story reminiscent of “Lakshmi Samr” in a comedic fashion, only for it to completely abandon logic as it unfolded. While light comedies can sometimes be a little logic-less – a trait we’ve grown accustomed to – this film suffered from maximum major logical inconsistencies throughout. Even the emotions portrayed towards the end felt artificial.

Family Viewing & Final Verdict

Regarding family viewing, the film is largely suitable, save for a moment of exposing and two or three dialogues in the middle. The storyline, as previously mentioned, revolves around the insurance claim idea.

In conclusion, this comedy entertainment piece severely lacked logical coherence, and its proceedings felt consistently silly. Despite a potentially good core idea, the inability to portray it believably stands out as a significant drawback, making it a disappointing watch. Based on my personal opinion, I rate this movie 2.25 out of 5.
